A short narrative I wrote during lockdown. I was taking myself out for coffee when a big announcement hit the media. It was good news, for once.
A ‘presser’ is Aussie slang for a press conference, held daily to provide updates on case numbers. Agonising over the pressers is somewhat of a national pastime. It’s also customary to predict the outcome of the presser based on what the premier is wearing. North Face jacket = good. Suit = bad.
